Tess
Still reading 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles' at the moment. I'm enjoying it, but it is a little hard going and the fact that I'm only on 'Phase the Fourth' (Chapter 4) is a little frustrating. So far Tess has been raped, given birth, lost a baby, (which she called Sorrow of all things!), gone away to become a milkmaid, fallen in love and has just had her love requited by a young gentlemen, Mr. Angel Clare. Given this fact, it seems rather apt that he also plays a harp and is the youngest son of a parson- although he has refused to join the clergy due to his reverence for intellectual freedom. Enough plot spoiling for today.
