So I got caught up working over Christmas and didn't get back to blogging about the stuff I was reading. I ended up reading the Adrian Mole books through to about number 4 (which the stupid library is trying to tell me is overdue, when I made two trips to the library to return the damn thing over the New Year's break!)
Anyway, after that I read the new Leonard Woolf biography, which took a while, but which I highly recommend (it's by Victoria Glendinning and was published in 2006 I think), 'Cold Mountain' by Charles Frazer, 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: A trilogy in four parts,' by Douglas Adams and I've got about one chapter to go on 'P.S, I Love You' by Cecilia Ahern. The last one's just been made into a film starring Hilary Swank, I haven't seen it yet, but am hoping to see it over the weekend. My sister said that I should have seen the film first and read the book second because they're so vastly different, but when we went to the video shop last week she kept telling me that certain films were 'terrible' or 'crap' and yet the movies she choose were dodgy and mine were ones she actually enjoyed. Anyway, when I finish 'P.S, I Love You' I have a copy of the 'The Quiet American' lined up and then the Mittford (sp?) sisters biography which has just come out. I quite like biographies actually, they're hard going in terms of the time it takes to get through them, but they're really easy to put down and come back to because it's someone's life and not a fictitious plot which you have to re-read to get back to the 'exciting' bit/s, so to speak.
